Labor Day

Last night we went to Annie's for a Labor Day Cookout. I got NO pictures. At one point, all of the moms and kids were in the 12x12 basement and all the men were outside, sans kids, but with beers. I looked around at one point and just started laughing. Not EVERY person in our little (well, big really) group was there, but the majority. It was insane.

Peter was not quite himself. Plus everyone was playing with HIS toys. He was pushing everyoneeeee. Hilarious.
Maddy made her way outside to the parking pad to scope out all the strollers for snacks.
Ryan took her pants off and was running around like a mad woman.
Mary was trying to kiss everyone.
Colton was a bit overwhelmed with the large crowd + a bit cranky bc he cut a molar yesterday.
Jackson tried to followed the boys around, but with his cast/peg leg, he was so slow. By the time he got to where they were, they left.
Ben was the same way, a little slow following the others around.
And Mary Grace, just chilled and watched everyone and all the craziness.

It was fun, crazy, but fun. And it's just funny to sit back and think, is this real life?!

In other news, C fells down the stairs not once but TWICE yesterday. Once at the park. Once in our back patio.. and the concrete caught him that time. He has a nasty boo boo on his head. He also fell UP a stair outside at Annie's last night and cut his lip. All of a sudden, he's decided he no longer needs to CRAWL the stairs, he thinks he can walk them. Well, he's wrong. Minimal crying... especially compared to the amount of crying/fit pitching he did yesterday walking home from the park when I made him hold my hand crossing the road.

Park Fun

C is SO into the playground these days!

Walking home.. Stopping to sit on other peoples stoops, touch their flowers, and try to turn on their hoses!

Colton got a (new) dog bag and pretended to pick up poop for 15 minutes yesterday. Cracked me up.

Meeting Great Grandparents Part Two - The Palmers!

Lucky for us, Grandma and Grandpa Palmer live just across the way from Aunt Bet! That was super convenient! We were able to see them multiple times!

Cool car!

Trying our hardest to get a good picture. Aunt Bet jumping through hoops :)

However, he was no cooperating this day. It was past his bed time!

Meeting Great Grandparents - Part One

I took so many pictures that I'll have to post separately - one post meeting the Martin Great Grandparents, second post, meeting the Palmer Great Grandparents.

C and I traveled to Atlanta to meet ALL FOUR OF MY GRANDPARENTS!! How lucky is that?! Aunt Bet and Uncle Mark were gracious enough to host us/transport us/feed us/etc. Couldn't have done it without them.

On Saturday, we drove from Gainesville to Atltanta to meet Great Grandaddy and Great Grandma Martin! Grandaddy took us to a nearby shady park where C played for a bit, but then decided he wanted to have lunch. So OF COURSE we drove to the V :) Colton was a trooper. He wore the hat, ate a grilled cheese, french frieds, and an F.O. He also stopped to talk to just about everyone in the place!

After we headed back to 'the home' where C ran around a little more and got a cool new GT t-shirt for the upcoming football season! We headed back to Gainesville about nap time, but were able to stop again on our way to the airport. Unfortuantely, Monday, C was about done with being patient/meeting new people/performing/riding in the car/being denied nap, so he wasn't quite himself. We did have a GREAT (perfect even) visit on Saturday though!

So happy and thankful we were able to visit!!

So many good photos I couldn't decide which was best!

Airport Expert

I was nervous to fly by myself with C, but turns out there was no need. He was an angel. He might've eaten a few more snacks than normal, but he was an ANGEL. Both flight he was sans naps and still, no crying, perfect little boy. Very thankful! Great grandparent pictures to come!!

Picture Catch Up

At the end of the day yesterday, in the bathtub, C asked for the light to be turned on, in sign language. 3 new signs in one day. Amazing. I'd like to thank Calli for encouraging me to do this. Because we did, we don't have a whiny toddler, we have a communicating and happy toddler! Life is so good.
