soccer

It was Colton's first year playing an organized sport.. I wasn't super into the idea (Saturday morning and all), but his buddies convinced him. He wound up being on a team with two of his best buds and our friend coached... it was a success. He absolutely loved playing. Scoring 3-5 goals/game definitely helped!

this running list of things Colton says is long overdue... some things he's corrected just in the past few months, especially since learning to read.

'Chalava' for balaclava
'furs' for my uggs
'sinking' for thinking (although with learning to read, his pronunciations are getting better and better)
'the mama' and 'the dada' - the the cracks me up
'tackle tummy' instead of tackle dummy
'pooped up' instead of cooped up
'nibbles' for nipples
'oweeee' for Ali
'camel' instead of camo
'mohog' instead of mohawk
'i have to disease' instead of i have to sneeze
'i'm going to pineapple you' instead of i'm going to squash you

'i love my new soap. it smells like whole foods'
was learning about the Milky Way in a book... told me later, 'did you know there is a galaxy named after a candy bar?!'
'mookie is betts is like cinnamon toast on saturday morning'
'come on!' 'seriously' and 'just period' --- commonly used phrases
'i know what tennessee starts with... 1, 0'
counting out loud for and gets to 200 but says 'a hundred and a hundred'
pronounces the L in jalapeno and tortilla.. thanks a lot, A
'are our dogs girls or mans? girls? but they snore!'
told me one day he would live with me forever and he'll buy me a vermont house and drive me back and forth when i'm too old to do it myself.
getting dressed, pauses, 'one second. let me go check the mirror to see if i grew any armpit hair last night first'
measured his height one day. woke up the next morning insistent we do it again to see if he's really growing.
thinks there is a correlation between age and height. 'katie must be younger than you, ma, because she's shorter than you.'
wanted fried chicken and steak and to camp for his birthday
eating bolognese. you can have bolognese tomorrow. 'or just a bowl of this'

tongue is always out in concentration
non-stop talking
still into signing the bill, adding the tip, doing the math, writing his name
sooo into games - crazy eights, uno, and a dice math game
recently decided he wants to grow out and donate his hair
doing weird food things - tomatoes on his pbj. broccoli dipped in peanut butter.
lost all of the baby fat and has abs.

picks up lyrics from songs really fast... but messes lots of them up... including
'we can still be France' instead of we can still be friends
'buy me a lentil' instead of cry me a river
