4!

It's been a week now and I still can't believe Colton is 4! He can't believe it either I guess - the morning after his birthday he woke up and said, 'Ma, am I still 4?!' -- so sweet.

We had Colton's party on Sunday, his actual birthday, with his 5 friends -- 2 families. Max + Roxy and Olive + Everett + Isla. It was a success. We grilled out at lunch and I assumed they'd be gone by late afternoon, but they stayed til 8p! So so fun. Colton requested a pirate theme. Jackie and I made them a giant pirate ship to play in and we got them bandanas, eye patches, tattoos, and swords. The kids were too cute running around the yard in their gear. It was a pretty warm day, so they all wound up stripping down and playing in the water. Of course all 6 of them wound up on the jeep as well. That jeep is always a hit.

Colton has been telling me for months that he is going to 'be good all day everyday' once he turns 4.... for the most part, that has proved to be true. He also decided once turning 4, he would stop peeing in his pull up at night (so far so good) and get out of bed himself instead of calling us in there (19 days strong). Funny how he just decided to do all these things at 4. Too bad he didn't decide to stop sucking his thumb at 4. He told me 5.5 for that one...

I'm usually pretty good about keeping track of cute things that he says, but haven't been quite as good at it as of late. He is SUPER into story telling... and he comes up with some big ones. They're usually quite funny and a mash up of random things he's heard... for instance, last night he told us about a ferry crash that was caused by a robot under the water (there was a ferry crash a few days ago --- no robots involved).

'Imam' - for I am
'so soft, no beard' - strokes my face saying this
'too fast, too serious' -- when he's running fast.

Look at that awesome pirate cake!

the kids spent lots of time catching and playing with the chickens - ha!

6 kids on a jeep... never seen it move so slow!
