Boston, MA

I was reminded this morning that I have been slacking in the picture department. A is STILL HOME FROM WORK (!!!!!) so I haven't been spending nap time uploading pictures! I have lots of catching up to do, but we'll start with our trip to Boston.

We LOVED Boston. We had a great trip. Perfect weather. Great location. A babysitter. Couldn't have been better really. We started the trip with a well behaved toddler on the airplane - score! Then we were able to take a cheap water taxi from the airport to our apartment - bigger score! It was so convenient - no taxi, no carseat, no switching trains, no going inside on a nice day. C loved it. The captain was friendly. We got a different view of the city. It was perfect. We were go go go the whole trip, but didn't do anything too crazy touristy. We explored all the neighborhoods to decide whether or not we want to try to live in Boston or not. We went to Fenway, twice. Once with C, pre-game, during the day, and once for the O's v. Sox game! We had a sitter (a friend from college) which was so great. We ate some wonderful authentic Italian food (multiple times) in the North End a.k.a. Little Italy (far superior to Baltimore's Little Italy). We met another friend of mine for lunch and had a a lobster roll and clam chowder outside on the water. We got yelled at by some crazy homeless woman on the T about how we kidnapped our baby because he is blonde and we have brown hair... yelled at for 5+ minutes on a busy metro ride. Took the T to Cambridge to see Harvard. Just a great trip. And after 4 days of exploring, the answer is yes, we would want to live in Boston. It is super clean, easy and cheap public transportation, lots to do, friendly people, great weather, and more. It is super expensive though. So while it definitely tops our list, not sure we'll be able to afford to live there. We'll see. We ended the trip the same way - a lovely water taxi ride back to the airport and a well behaved toddler on the airplane. Lucky us.

And now for photos... which I am ashamed to say, did not take very many and we DID NOT GET A SELF PORTRAIT IN A NEW CITY (can you believe it?! argh).
