Old Home Week - Bonfire + Concert

One of my favorite events of the summer - the bonfire and concert at Craigville Beach at the end of Old Home Week! This year we met the Milnes and the Kochs there. The kids had a blast and we didn't hear a peep from them all night... until it was bonfire time. Colton was a little nervous about the fire... Sweet Kayleigh put her arm around Colton and said, 'don't worry. if it gets out of control, I'll put you on my back and just run.' How stinking cute (and that's the photo of the girl with her arm around Colton above).

First Race

For Centerville Old Home Week, there were a few road races..  kids included. For 6 year olds it was a 100M dash. Colton was SOO excited for it. He talked about it for weeks leading up to it... he kept saying he was going to WIN the race. I thought, no way. But turns out he did. Ha.

First Lost Tooth

Colton lost his first tooth a few days before his 6th Birthday! It had been loose for quite some time... he's not a yanker, apparently. It came out after a big night playing outside until almost 10pm with kids buds, NJ and Annie! The tooth fairy left him $2. He told me the next morning that he thought the tooth fairy is a, 'real man who takes kids teeth and puts them in a big museum.' HA! That was a new one for me. He looks so much more grown up with a tooth gone... and another is on its way!

Colton wore his Red Sox shirt to the first O's game we went too. We bought an O's shirt outside of the stadium though. Boston was playing the Orioles. He rooted for the Red Sox UNTIL the Orioles hit a grand slam to take the lead... then he proceeded to take off his Red Sox shirt and put on his new Orioles shirt!! Hilarious!

Colton VERY much enjoyed our patio renovation.

From having an ugly yard he could dig and do whatever he wanted in, to the trucks delivering stones, to the skid steer excavating, and the tree trimmer climbing our massive oak, Colton enjoyed the entire process.

El Restaurante Chocolate

Colton's Spanish Class had Restaurante day yesterday and it was adorable. They got into teams, prepared a menu, and served their food to other kids and parents. They also got to take breaks and visit the other kids' restaurantes. Colton had a blast! He just loves Spanish class and his teacher, Paloma.

Syrup Season

Since our house is on a Maple Syrup Farm, Colton got to walk up to the Sugar Shack to learn all about the process of making maple syrup.. and drink some fresh out of the boiler!! Lucky boy.
