the Tattered Cover story time

Since being in Denver, C and I have run to the Tattered Cover every Tuesday morning for story time. They do a great job - much better than the B'more one we go to. They read 5+ books, have an activity, and snack. They also get name tags on the beginning. They have to go up to the front, pick one out, and tell them their name. C was too shy to do it the first week, but is now a pro. Cute to hear him say, Colty, when asked his name. Today was a special story time bc of the release of a new children's book!

The special activity today was coloring bc the book released was, Every Crayon Needs a Place to Call Home! Last week it was a fun matching game that C got REALLY into, and the week before that, a rolling ball game.

Denver Botanical Gardens

An amazing children's garden - a stream to play in, rocks to build dams, a digging pit filled with bones, a mock Pikes Peak, and more. C loved it! And so close to our house.

Forgot to add..

Every night at bed, Colton asks, Dad work? Yes, dad works tomorrow. He makes this little pitiful whine. The. He repeats, dad works, and adds, stay Colty mama?

It's the sweetest and saddest thing.

26 Months Old

Some fun things about C at 2 years and 2 months..

He is SO into climbing and hanging.  And he's surprisingly great at both.

He's changed how he says his name. It used to sound like 'goot' and now it sounds more like 'doodi' -
Trying to Colty, how Ben says it.

He hears me say 'Alex' so sometimes calls his dad Alex... However, his pronunciation is incorrect - it's HILARIOUS. Can you guess how it sounds?!

He often says, it's nice. For instance, it's nice outside. It's nice inside. The breeze is nice. This couch is nice. So cute. And funny.

And everything and everyone is on their way for food. If we see a fire truck with its lights on, I ask, where do you think it's going, and he always responds, to eat food. If he sees a squirrel, he says he's eating food. When we FaceTime with brett and Ali, he says they have to go get food after. When we see a helicopter flying, I say, where's it going? Without fail, to get food. The kids always hungry.
